Terms and Conditions.

Please read the information below about using ePermit and/or parking within the Invercargill City Council (ICC) parking facilities.

Car parking terms and conditions

The Invercargill City Council Terms and Conditions are issued under the relevant legislation.

While parking within the ICC parking facilities, the following terms and conditions apply:

  • drivers must observe any traffic and parking control signs displayed within the on street parking zones or the entrance to or within the ICC parking facilities and must comply with directions given by any ICC staff or other authorised person;
  • A parking fee applies to vehicles parked within ICC paid parking zones at all times during the paid parking hours displayed. If a driver brings a vehicle into an ICC paid parking zone and wishes to park, the driver agrees to pay the parking fee for that zone as advised on any parking kiosk;
  • drivers may pay a parking fee by: using one of the available options, which may include Pay By Plate - where indicated by a parking control sign; or by paying online using the ePermit system (to eligible persons); or by paying online using the ParkEasy  parking system. Both online parking systems are managed by Global Integrated Solutions Ltd on behalf of ICC;
  • in the case of a ePermit or ParkEasy it is the driver's responsibility to ensure they have registered online and have either organized the relevant parking fees to be paid or have paid the relevant parking fee (as the case may be);
  • in the case of a ePermit or ParkEasy, it is the driver's responsibility to ensure they have selected the 'active' vehicle which is parked within the paid parking zone;
  • the purchase of a parking permit (including this ePermit) gives a driver permission to park within an ICC paid parking zone - it does not guarantee a parking space;
  • All vehicles must be parked considerately and in marked bays where applicable. Contravention will attract a parking infringement notice (PIN). All ICC paid parking zones have been gazetted and sign posted in accordance with the requirements of the relevant legislation;
  • the ICC reserves the right to cancel a driver's parking permit or permission to park within an ICC paid parking zone if circumstances require;
  • While the ICC takes care in providing parking and parking facilities, it accepts no liability or responsibility whatsoever for any theft from or of, or loss or damage to, a vehicle entering or parking within ICC parking zones. Drivers enter and park within the ICC parking facilities at their own risk;
  • the ICC reserves the right to declare by notice that parking restrictions, or parking restrictions of a particular kind to not apply for a period and for a particular place within ICC parking zones; and
  • Drivers acknowledge and agree that parking and driving within ICC parking zones is managed under ICC Parking By-laws and Traffic By-laws in accordance with the relevant legislation. Drivers agree at all times to comply with all road and transport regulations and the ICC Parking Terms and Conditions.
