2P Strathfield Select

Criteria for Eligibility

All Strathfield residents will be eligible to register for the 2P Strathfield Select Parking.

Residential households are entitled to obtain two (2), 2P Strathfield Select Parking permits per household.

Nursing homes are entitled to two (2) Strathfield Select Parking permits per facility upon application to be issued to residents as required. Proof of residence is required to be submitted with all applications by residents as outlined in the application form. All supporting documents must match the residential property address of the applicant's current residence to be considered valid.

Non-resident rate payers, landlords, boarding houses, businesses, commercial or industrial premises are NOT eligible for the 2P Strathfield Select Parking permits.

Locations for use of 2P Strathfield Select Parking

2P Strathfield Select Parking users will be eligible to use Strathfield Council operated off-street and on-street metered car parks and parking areas. Signage at the entrance or street to each of these car parks or on street car parking areas, indicates the 2P Strathfield Select Parking.

The current list of eligible car parks and parking areas, some yet to have meters installed and will be delivered over time as per the stages listed below, includes:

  • Bressington Park;

  • Mason Park

  • Strathfield Town Centre Car Park (Strathfield Square)

  • Homebush West Car Park

  • Homebush Road Car Park (south of Liverpool Road, behind the Crossways Hotel)

  • Hudson Park Car Park

  • Strathfield Park, on Chalmers Road

  • Strathfield Town Centre, on-street

  • Homebush Town Centre, on-street

  • Homebush West Town Centre, on-street.

  • Begnell Field Car Park


Conditions of use for 2P Strathfield Select Parking

  1. Vehicles pre-registered with Council for 2P Strathfield Select Parking are exempt from parking charges related to designated off-street and on-street metered car parks for the first two hours only.
    Existing sign posted time restrictions still apply. Where 3-hour parking is allowed, you will only be charged for 1 hour of parking, (i.e. if your stay for 3-hours), where 1 hour of parking is allowed, parking will be free, but you will need to move your car after 1 hour has ended.
  2. 2P Strathfield Select Parking may be used a maximum of one (1) time per designated car park or parking area per day. A vehicle that has used the 2P free parking within a 2P Strathfield Select parking location is not entitled to 2 hours free again that day in that location.
  3. 2P Strathfield Select Parking permit is valid ONLY for use in the designated 2P Strathfield Select Parking areas for which it is issued. The authorised car parks and parking areas are clearly identified at their entrances or on street with advisory signs.
  4. 2P Strathfield Select Parking DOES NOT provide exemptions from restrictions including, but not limited to, “NO STOPPING”, “NO PARKING”, “LOADING ZONE”, “TRUCK ZONE”, “WORKS ZONE”, “BUS ZONE”, “CLEARWAY” or “DISABLED PARKING ZONE”.
  5. 2P Strathfield Select Parking users are strictly prohibited from transferring or assigning 2P Strathfield Select Parking to any party for any use not permitted under this Procedure.
  6. If a 2P Strathfield Select Parking user disposes of the vehicle to which the 2P Strathfield Select Parking applies, and/or changes their residential address, the user is responsible for notifying Council of the changes.
  7. Fraudulent use of 2P Strathfield Select Parking is an offence and may result in fines or the cancellation of the 2P Strathfield Select Parking.
  8. Approved applications found not to have met the eligibility criteria will be cancelled and an email notification sent if available.
  9. Drivers of Vehicles which have a valid 2P Strathfield Select Permit must enter the rego in the parking meter as per signage.

STRATHFIELD RESIDENT PARKING SCHEME (AREA 1, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50)

The Resident Parking Scheme (RPS) has been designed to enhance the residential amenity in streets located in the immediate vicinity of Strathfield Station, wherein commuter parking and parking by non-residents during special events in the Homebush Bay Area were often experienced, resulting in additional strain on local residents seeking parking near their premises.

Single Dwelling Eligibility

  1. A maximum of two Resident Parking Permits can be issued per household, living in single dwellings in the area covered under the scheme.
  2. Each single dwelling in the area covered under the Scheme, can be issued with One Resident Visitor Parking Permit on application;
  3. Up to two (2) permits are free, fees will be applicable for the third permit (refer to Strathfield Council’s Fees and Charges

Multi Dwelling (Units) Eligibility

  1. A maximum of one Resident Parking Permit can be issued per dwelling of residential apartment buildings in the area covered under the scheme;
  2. Residents of apartment buildings will not be eligible for Resident Visitor Parking Permits.

The number of permits to be issued will be determined according to above.

General conditions of issue

Permits are not transferable.

Proof of Residency and Registration

Proof of Residence must be in the form of a current NSW Drivers License, or Rates Notice.

Proof of Vehicle Registration must be a copy of current RMS registration documents, these documents must show the same residential address as the proof of residency.

Proof of Company Vehicle Registration; in addition to a copy of current RMS registration documents, the applicant must supply a letter (on company letterhead), signed by an authorising officer, which states that the applicant is a current company employee and that the vehicle is authorised for use by the resident to travel to and from work.

Applicable Vehicles

The vehicles for which permits are issued should be less than 6m in length, less than 3.3 tonnes mass limit and only two axles. Caravans, trailers, boats and tractors are also excluded from the scheme

Misuse of Permits

If Council determines that permits are being abused or misused by residents, the resident may have their permit cancelled and excluded from the scheme for a period determined by Council

Replacement Permits

To apply for a replacement permit log into the Parking Permit and update your vehicle details.

Schools, Churches and Businesses

Schools, Churches and Businesses will not be eligible to receive Resident Parking Permits or Visitor Parking Permits. Where possible schools, churches and businesses will be provided alternative forms of parking solutions.

Resident Protest

If a resident believes that they require more then the allowed number of Parking Permits they may write a letter addressed to the General Manager seeking approval. The letter will need to state why the resident believes they require more than the allowed number of Parking Permits. Only in exceptional circumstances will approval be given for these requests.
